Last night H2B and I and along with another couple went to Fenway Park for the Red Sox / Yankees game. It was a fantastic game, obviously the Sox WON! Which was awesome in itself to see. I also crossed another thing of my 101 things in a 1001 days list, which is super awesome.
But the BEST part of the night, I fit in the seats... like so much more better than last year!!!!! If you read my last post, I was concerned about it. It was SO uncomfortable last year, I actually had bruises on my thighs from where the seat arm rests were digging into me.... well not this year!!!
I was in shock, because I know I am heavier than I was last time, but for some reason, I fit better this year. I guess my weight is shifting and my body is changing...
I still had trouble fitting with my legs, but at 5' 10" it's just bound to happen.... the seats at Fenway are not really conducive to tall people in general.
I am really excited about this, for me, this is so huge!

Great Non-Scale Victory!
I just had to share with you all. I had a great NSV today.
My new car... my 2009 Jeep Patriot that should NOT be having any problems, had problems. The roof leaks, through my map light. Long story, shorten, I had to bring it in for service to my local Jeep dealership. Now with the economic downturn of last year, the dealership I bought it from was no longer in the Jeep business, so I had to go to a different one.
So while I am checking my car in with the service department, I asked the kind individual how long it would take, he said that it would be a few hours. Seesh! I didn't want to waste it just sitting there in the waiting room reading the book I brought. So I said to myself, self, the gym is a little over a half a mile walk from the dealership, why not go get a workout in?
And that is exactly what I did. I walked the 0.7 miles to the gym, had a good hour and 20 minute workout, did a mix of cardio and some weight training (cuz weights are for girls!). I didn't even really look at the time when the dealership called and said my car was ready. So then it was a quick walk back to the dealership and I was on my way. All in all it was that errand was less than 2 hours. And in that 2 hours, I feel like I got so much accomplished since I didn't sit on my duff and read, instead I went to the gym and got a fantastic workout in.
I was super proud of myself for this non-scale victory. I can see that these changes are not temporary, but they are lifetime changes.
I am hopefully going to be weighing in tomorrow, not sure how it's going to go, it's tough to get a rough estimate when I am working the night shift the night before a weigh in. But DBF is taking me to Rhode Island this weekend and I really just don't have the time at any other point this week. I will already be two days late due to my crazy work schedule. Oh well, I hope to be back to a somewhat normal schedule for next week!

Couch to 5K Week 2 in the books!
So today, I was first going to hit the gym, but once I got outside it was too nice out. So I changed my mind and went for a training run. Finally 4 weeks later I finished week 2... damn sinus infection. I am looking forward to starting week 3.
Today's run felt good, the second run cycle my right knee started aching so when I got to the walk portion I took the time to do a nice long stretch. It felt really good and loosened right up. I then did the next couple of run intervals on the grass. Thankfully my town has a nice long stretch of grass called "The Plains". It was my first experience running on grass. Thoughts... it was quite nice. A lot more forgiving than the treadmill and pavement. A lot easier on the joints.
I feel like I am making progress, the first couple of run intervals I was doing a lot of negative self-talk. You know, the kind I've been doing my whole life. Whenever I've started something and it got to a point that I was struggling or had to make a tough decision... yeah well I kept telling myself that I was going to complete the run. I even said it out loud! I hope the postman wasn't bothered by the girl who was yelling at herself... oops! I'm not crazy I swear! The app I have for my iPhone chimes in with "you are halfway" and I was like score, I got this. I busted out the last half of the training session and at the end, I felt SO good and SO proud of myself for being able to combat the negative self-talk. Big NSV (non-scale victory) for me!
I may not be running my first 5k in 2 weeks, but I'll feel confident in the training that I am doing now and I know I will be successful!
